Companies sign The Neptune Declaration on Seafarers Wellbeing & Crew Change

Rotterdam, 17/02/2021

Subject: Companies sign The Neptune Declaration on Seafarers Wellbeing & Crew Change

The Neptune Declaration involves 450 companies and sheds light to the humanitarian and safety issues faced by seafarers due to the restrictions implemented by Governments in order to control the COVID-19 pandemic crisis.

According to The International Labour Organization (ILO) more than 300,000 seafarers have in fact been left stranded working aboard ships, and are unable to make their return due to the many travel and bureaucratic restrictions imposed since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemics.

Spending long amounts of time at sea has considerable consequences on the physical and mental wellbeing of seafarers, a situation which could eventually result in maritime incidents and environmental disasters as well as threaten the global supply of energy.

Underwater noise mitigation using Bubble Curtains

Rotterdam, 11/02/2021

Subject: Underwater noise mitigation using Bubble Curtains

SA OFFSHORE develops in house green technology for environmentally sustainable offshore operations protecting the environment, sea mammals and fishery.

ROBS™ innovative concept controls and monitors air bubbles in order to mitigate the noise level generated from subsea pile driving for offshore wind farms installations, particularly interesting in the continuously increasing size of offshore wind farms.

Ocean noise pollution has strong implications on the ecosystem and especially of cetaceans.

Through the cooperation with ‘ALMA MATER STUDIORUM’ University of Bologna, Dr. Nicholas Fantuzzi, SA OFFSHORE is always committed to generating innovating and sustainable ideas that will shape the future of the energy industry.
