This course is designed to provide DSE assessors with a structured approach to DSE assessments, and will take the delegate from no knowledge to a competency where he or she can carry out the DSE risk assessment in accordance with the DSE regulations. Typical delegates include: H&S advisors, Occupational health advisors, Facility Managers, and significant others responsible for employee wellbeing.

Poorly designed workstations and repetitive tasks may lead to muskculoskeletal disorders causing aches, pain, swelling and poor performance. Preventative measures have been identified and consist in the correct design of the workstation to suit an individuals needs and a risk assessment approach to demonstrate the need for workstations to be re-designed or relocated in order to reduce the risks caused by stooping, over-reaching and similar actions. Ergonomic studies have indicated that screen positioning and keyboard adjustability are some of the most important factors in providing a comfortable work environment and preventing a broad range of Muscolar Skeletric Disorders’s associated with computer use. This training course will help employers, managers and others to understand ergonomics and human factors in the workplace. It gives industry examples of ergonomics problems and simple, effective advice about how to solve them.
